That's right, 2007 marks the 10 year anniversary of the beginning of the Shadow Council. We may be looking at getting a little shindig together for those who'd like to get together and reminisce about past times, catch up on the present, and have some fun while doing it. Check out the forums if you are interested and spread the word to other SC members.

The server is back up and running fine as you can see. I apologize for it being down yesterday (as if anyone comes here to read our slacker updates anyways). I was upgrading the POS with more memory, which completely went as planned. The only problem was that the RAID controller decided it was going to go nuts for no reason at all (probably because my RAM install went so smooth and the computer couldn't allow me to get away without causing me hours of headache and grief) and spam the event logs with errors. So I spent all last night formating, reinstalling, and reconfiguring the hardware on the server.

I hate computers. Nothing is ever easy with them.

The Shadow Council will be hosting it's annual gathering in Charlotte, NC between July 24-29. The council will most likely then venture off to the beach (Myrtle, Hilton Head, Wilmington) of their choice or chill and relax in a secluded confederate city (Savannah, Charleston). Let the fun begin!

Well, the gathering is done and it will be one to remember. The core of our gathering took place at Myrtle Beach driving the strip and body surfing at 3am in the morning. While we were down there it was grad week and needless to say it was wild. We relaxed in the lazy river, shouted down at people from our hotel room, and admired our jacuzzi bathtub.

Besides that OnyX won some large amount of points at Jillian's (a big adult fun center) by getting the next strike in bowling out of all bowlers. Bowling was just one of the few things we did though as stated below. We had countless games of pool, and tetrinet, and more tetrinet, Warcraft II, and Tennis.

We all hung out by the pool, made fun of Grogz's and Senn's Canadian accent, tried to drop gallons of water on OnyX at Carowinds amusement park, ate at the Olive Garden *just* for Crael, bought turtles, watched Xaver kneel down two feet to use a put-put golf club, watched Crellin drink two Tequila shots and two Vodka shots all while drinking a glass of milk (gag), and finally everyone missed me taking an extra stroke on that one golf hole (quiet Xaver!) but no one missed me turn into a water faucet of ocean water.

The SC gathering has now picked up it's bags and is heading to Myrtle Beach for the weekend. We're staying at the Crown Reef hotel. So far the gathering has consisted of Warcraft 2 battles, Tetrinet, Tennis, Pool, and Bowling. So if anyone asks where we are, we've 'Gone Fishin'!

That's right folks...we're having a party in Charlotte, NC between May 29th and June 5th. My cousin, SC~OnyX, (doesn't play EQ) will be down for that period of time as well as the other SCs that are located here. May 29th is a Tuesday and so is June 5th. The weekend days Friday, Saturday, and Sunday are June 1st, 2nd, 3rd if you can only come down on the weekend.

If ticket prices are a bit steep for Charlotte I'd try looking at tickets for Greensboro, NC. Sometimes it can be cheaper but it's an hour away. I wouldn't recommend Raleigh as it's a bit over 2 hours away. I would recommend everyone go to http://www.travelocity.com/ and take a look at flights there. Enter in your departure city and Charlotte, NC for the destination and select 'any date.' You can also try http://www.priceline.com/ or I've used http://www.lowestfare.com/ .

Everyone should come as it will be a lot of fun. There'll be lots of pool, bowling, golf, and a trip to Myrtle Beach if everyone is okay with catching some rays. If we need to get some lan games going we can easily port ourselves over to Bank of America and get it on!

Several people will be able to stay at Grogz and my place. If you desire more comfort than the floor or the couch then you're more than welcome to get a hotel room. Several people staying together should make it relatively cheap. Plan your flights right away!
